Saying Farewell to Theresa Legodi

 At BIB, it’s not often that we say goodbye to staff members. Theresa Legodi joined BIB in 1976, 3 years after Barker Insurance Brokers began in 1973. She had just finished her typing/administration course when she approached BIB for work. She walked into the offices, which back then was in the middle of JHB CBD, and had an interview with Ken Barker. Theresa had this to say when she addressed the BIB team on her final day.

“I met with Mr Barker and he asked me when I could start work, I told him “Now”. I was so happy”. She has been the BIB receptionist ever since that day.

Rhett Barker saying a few words at the farewell highlighted that Theresa had been with the Business for 38 years, he then asked the BIB Team “Who here hadn’t even been born 38 years ago?” to which half of the team put up their hands, which just reinforced his statement.

Theresa’s sons also form an indirect part of the BIB team as BIB assisted starting them up with their own Windscreen Replacement/Repair business who work closely with the BIB Claims team on a daily basis.

Theresa is the first member of the original BIB Team to retire and we wish her well for the journey ahead, and a long and healthy retirement.
