Back on the 2nd of August 2012, all at BIB huddled around the TV biting our nails, cheering, shouting “Go, Go, Go…”, hands over our mouths in anticipation, while we watched the SA Mens Rowing team pushing for the finish line in the Olympic final. The office erupted as the tip of the boat edged across the finish line beating Great Britain (2nd) & Denmark (3rd) who were both favourites to win.
Etana Insurance, proud sponsors of the lightweight four, brought the team around to the BIB office to share their Olympic story and how we could relate their journey to our working environment. Their story was very inspirational. No great achievement comes without its shares of highs, lows, hard work, competition and dedication. It’s all part of the “process”.
The team kindly brought their Gold medals with them for everyone to ogle at. They also signed autographs and took numerous photos so we all had a small memento from this day.
