Adults and children around the globe are gearing up for the celebration of the world’s most popular sporting event – the FIFA World Cup – to be held in Qatar in November 2022.
Barker Insurance, alongside our valued client, Pat Wiltshire Sports, have donated soccer balls and kit to Cobra United Football Club. A decade ago, Richmond Tshifhiwa founded Cobra United in a quest to pursue his passion for developing young soccer players from many different walks of life.
His goal remains to not only motivate and inspire these youth but also to expose them to opportunities they might not otherwise have been presented with.
Richmond tells the story of Neo Rapoo, a talented 16-year-old Lonehill football sensation, who has been given the unbelievable opportunity to attend trials in Belgium over the next two months. Neo’s soccer journey began with him playing for Cobra United at only 10 years of age. The SuperSport soccer schools then selected him to attend their academy. He currently plays for the SuperSport United FC U23 team which competes in the DStv Diski Challenge and is the youngest member of the team.
This story is a testament to the significant impact of Richmond’s foundation on the lives of the children he dedicates his work.
