A crash with Nature - Most unusual crash ever!

A crash with Nature - Most unusual crash ever!

On the 7th of May, BIB Client and one of SA’s top Cyclists, Andrew Mclean was out on a morning ride with fellow cyclists. Who would’ve thought that a morning ride in Northern Joburg would have turned into a close encounter with one of South Africa’s Big5?

Whilst riding down Cedar drive at 5:15am in the dark, Andrew hit a Buffalo that was lying dead in the road. It is still unknown as to how the Buffalo got there or how it had died, as there was no gunshot wounds, or visible signs that it had been hit by a car. A report by The Citizen newspaper suspects that the Buffalo was being transported and fell off the vehicle and due to its injuries could not be moved or put back on the vehicle and was just left behind. However, all still a mystery at this point.

Andrew who hit the Buffalo at ±60km/h suffered a broken collar bone and wrist. Andrew joked on his twitter feed posting a picture of him cycling past a Lion enclosure - @AndrewMclean “Another one of my Big5 excretions. This one was alive but had a much more pleasant ending”

From all at BIB we wish Andrew a very speedy recovery!
